Creativity and New Media

My Video URL:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSXfMOIVoT4 I believe new media fosters creativity in everyone as long as people are willing to put in effort. I've always wanted to start an online business. I've recently created an advertisement video for my product and uploaded it to YouTube. I plan on using new media technologies and platforms such as Facebook and Instagram to advertise my product to reach consumers. In modern days new media tools and technologies have the potential to do almost anything along with helping an individual foster creativity.

HW Creativity

New media is continuously advancing and being used everyday while fostering creativity. Some new media technologies or platforms would be Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, Virtual Reality, MMORPG(Massively-Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) and much more. All these platforms allows the individual to be creative. For example, on YouTube, everyone can have their own channel to create their own content for the specific niche they prefer. For example, there are food exploration videos, cooking guide videos, traveling videos, game-play videos and much more. Everyone has their own style on their videos whether it be the content or the video editing itself. YouTubers generally have their own style and song for their outtro and intro which allows their audience to recognize their channel uniquely. This allows for the individuals to be creative in order to create something that reaches to their audience and have them come back for more future videos. Another example would be pla

Modeling Reality with Virtual Worlds

Virtual worlds are places where people can go into virtually to experience many things, sometime things that cannot be experienced in reality. There are many advantages of virtual reality along with some disadvantages. Some advantages would be virtual prototypes such as cars, training programs for military, medical training, therapy and many more. According to an article, "The virtual world moves into the classroom", students are able to learn science related topics such as volcanoes and history topics from significant American history such as the civil war. Marsha Maxwell, the head of educational technology for Atlanta International School stated that virtual reality help students learn with perspective which can improve their learning experience. This can also foster creativity in students because they are allowed to vividly experience what they are learning rather than reading plain text. In addition to this, virtual reality can also help treat many medical problems such a

Blog about Twitter

A Twitter discussion is very similar to a Blackboard discussion, yet very different. They are both effective ways for one to communicate with another. Twitter discussions would be better than Blackboard discussions because Twitter has more features. Some of these features would be hashtags, retweets, and the ability to @ someone when you want to get their attention. There are much more to explore and do in Twitter than Blackboard. In addition to this, Twitter has a much nicer user interface than Blackboard and a much larger audience. However, the one downside to this is that you are only allowed up to 280 characters per tweet which includes your hashtags. Some may argue that this is good because it keeps the tweets simple and informative at the same time. Blackboard on the other hand is an easy and standard way for the class and professor to communicate with one another. It is usually the way classes would communicate with each other because it is a built in feature that comes with onc

Blog: Social networking sites

Image
Four social networking sites I visited are Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Reddit. All four of these websites are useful for communicating with people from almost anywhere. They all have features where you can post interesting stories for people to read and comment their thoughts on. Although I never had a Twitter account before this course, I see the benefits of using Twitter now. It is very easy to use and access information you need in a short period of time. For example, I've used Twitter before to check for parking regulations in NYC and also to check on updates if school would be canceled during a snow storm by just looking at a few tweets. On the other hand, Facebook is something I use very often to communicate with my friends and family. You can download Facebook's messenger app in the app store in less than a minute to communicate with anyone easily as long as you have Wifi. In addition to this, there are also group pages where you can network and communicate with peop
