Blog: Privacy

As technology advances everyday, security and risk of information leaking becomes an issue. Many new media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and many more contains so much personal information that it wouldn't be good if someone besides you had the access to it. With the internet being so enormous, there are hackers everywhere and your personal information is at risk of being leaked to the public. There is always a risk when you are posting something online. According to, "Facebook Privacy Is So Confusing Even the Zuckerberg Family Photo Isn't Private", Mark Zuckerberg's sister posted a photo of her with her family, but later found her photo was posted by someone else and is now all over the internet without her consent. This is only the tip of the iceberg compared to what hackers can do to you with your personal data on the internet. A miss-click on a link or even opening the wrong email can allow hackers to infiltrate your computer and gain access to all your personal data. I believe that everyone's personal data and information are at risk while using new media platforms so it is best to think before posting or uploading something. People can also invest in an anti-virus software to have an extra layer of security.
